Snow Bug Bison Tours
Sturgeon River Ranch is thrilled to announce a brand new winter adventure!!
From December through April (depending on snow conditions), join us on a 4-hour excursion to observe Saskatchewan’s only free-ranging herd of wild Plains Bison in their winter habitat.
Guests will enjoy the comfort and safety of travelling in a Bombardier Snow Machine, to and from the location. Along the way they’ll take in the beautiful scenery of northern Saskatchewan and the mix of Boreal Forest and plains landscapes.
There’s a high likelihood that other wildlife will be observed along the way as well. Guests will also have the opportunity to directly enjoy and explore the backcountry, go for a hike, do some bird watching, or just take in the peace and beauty of nature.
While we’re out in the wilderness we’ll also stop and make quick-camp with a fire, smokies, marshmallows, and a warm bevvy - tea, coffee or hot chocolate. This is definitely an experience you won’t soon forget.
*** For maximum comfort, be sure to dress accordingly, with a warm winter jacket, snow pants, tall winter boots, toque, scarf or balaclava, and winter gloves. And if you’re prone to chills, add layers! Saskatchewan winters are no joke.
